frequently asked questions at CNFdesigns - custom website designsFrequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Choose CNFdesigns over other companies?

Be assured that when you decide to work with CNFdesigns, your satisfaction is the number one priority.  I work personally with you to ensure all your design needs have been met, and you are 100% satisfied with the end result.

Do I need to edit my website myself?

If you have a small business website, not necessarily but yes, you can. Small edits are included if you host with CNFhosting. If you plan on doing a lot of updates, then you may want to purchase the editor at an added fee. You can update your pages with a WYSIWYG editor you will use to edit content directly that supports the new standards to update content on your website. If you're getting a e-commerce or database solution from us, those tools give you a back-end where you can define and update content on your website fairly easy.

How frequently do I need to update my website?

It depends on what you're doing with your website, but we definitely recommend you plan for this. Content is critical for optimization and "fresh" or new content is an important factor for ranking. If you have a small business website you might want to update some pages a couple of times a year. You might also have a page to display the latest news on your website.

What is a domain name, and why do I need that?

Domain names are used to identify one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name apple.com represents about a dozen IP addresses. Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. For example, in the URL http://cnfdesigns.com/index.html, the domain name is cnfdesigns.com.
Every domain name has a suffix that indicates which top level domain (TLD) it belongs to. There are only a limited number of such domains. For example:
gov - Government agencies
edu - Educational institutions
org - Organizations (nonprofit)
mil - Military
com - commercial business
net - Network organizations
biz - businesses
us - United States business
info - Informational
Because the Internet is based on IP addresses, not domain names, every Web server requires a Domain Name System (DNS) server to translate domain names into IP addresses.

You need one so that people can find you on the Web!  You purchase a domain through a domain name registrar.  I can purchase that for you, or you can purchase it yourself. We just need access if we have to change the DNS, which we will do for you.

Can you take, or copy over the content from our old site?
